一名 Google 工程師成為第一位獲得 Microsoft 資安獎金的得主。
Microsoft 於上月底宣布推出資安有獎競賽，將頒發出最高達 10 萬美金（約新台幣 298 萬 7,700 元）給突破 Windows 8.1 安全機制的開發者，同時另有金額不同的獎金將頒給提出防護建議和找出 IE11 臭蟲的開發者。現在終於出現第一名領到獎金的開發者，而他剛好是一名 Google 工程師……
Microsoft 於上月底宣布了這個獎金計畫，執行期間到七月底，共 30 天。而 Google 工程師 Ivan Fratric 則是獲得了找出 IE11 重大弱點的獎金，最高 1 萬 1,000 美金（約新台幣 32 萬 8,647 元）。
Microsoft 的資深安全策略專幅 Katie Moussouris 於該公司 BlueHat 部落格中，發文恭喜第一位得獎者，不過並未提供得獎人的個人資訊。不過 Katie Moussouris 於 11 日在一則 Twitter 回應中，恭喜了該位得獎的 Google 員工。

雖然這個結果有點諷刺，但其實並不少見。一些 Google 工程師定期會直接回報 Microsoft 軟體中的安全問題給該公司，不過也有一些直接將找到的安全漏洞放上網。
Microsoft 過去並不常舉辦如此公開的獎金比賽，多數是小型而有限制的形式，這次 Microsoft 舉辦資安獎金大賽是希望能在 Windows 8.1 和 IE11 公開測試期間，把各種問題用最快的速度找出來，在 Microsoft 決定像 Apple 一樣每年都更新 Windows 系統後，快速的安全性更新將會十分重要。
