民進黨台中市長提名作業採先協調、不成就民調。立委林佳龍篤定要選，上屆候選人蘇嘉全鴨子划水，新系立委蔡其昌昨表態當仁不讓，黨內初選激烈。

蘇嘉全勤跑基層，最近態度漸趨低調，反倒是說過「蘇選、蔡就不選」的蔡其昌，從今年初四處掛看板後，昨天再向黨和民眾重申「選我！」

地方人士分析，蘇嘉全老成持重，不願激起黨內對立，最後關頭「以和為貴」、「讓給新世代」的可能性極高。但蔡其昌不可能禮讓林佳龍，若協調不成，就是「龍昌鬥」。屆時就看民進黨「配對民調」結果，誰的民調高就出線。

政壇人士看選情，認為蔡其昌上遍媒體談話性節目，口才犀利，口條清晰，但「要選市長」還待宣傳。

林佳龍勤跑、能跑眾所周知，加上他多次禮讓黨籍前輩選舉，在基層頗獲好評，實力不容小覷。

相較綠營傳統「提名底定，全營歸心」，國民黨現任市長胡志強雖明顯朝連任邁進，但還有不少同黨政壇人物有意取而代之，且縣市合併裂痕頗深，不管是胡要連任或新人出線，都有待消除紛爭。
