英國有一隻在養企鵝，已經36歲高齡，相當於人類年齡的108歲，動物園正在為牠申請世界上最老企鵝的金氏紀錄。
這隻叫做「米西」的雌性帝企鵝，1982年來到英國格洛斯蘭特郡的鳥樂園，當時牠至少已5歲大，如今牠還是園中企鵝群的領導者。
這隻企鵝的飼養員們，起初不知道米西是世界上最老的企鵝，直到一家丹麥動物園為一隻比米西還小兩歲的企鵝冠上了這一頭銜，他們才積極整理資料，替米西申請刷新世界新紀錄。
通常生活在野外的企鵝預期壽命是15到20歲，人工飼養的帝企鵝一般可以活到26歲左右。
