【賴宇萍╱綜合外電報導】美國前財政部長薩默思（Lawrence Summers）被視為接任美國聯邦準備理事會（Federal Reserve，Fed，聯準會）下屆主席的熱門人選。但他與花旗（citi）等多家金融機構的密切關係，恐成為他爭取大位的絆腳石。

據《華爾街日報》報導，薩默思不但擔任花旗（citi）的有給職顧問，也為經營納斯達克股票市場的納斯達克OMX集團（Nasdaq OMX Group）、避險基金D. E. Shaw、創投公司Andreessen Horowitz，以及資產管理顧問公司Alliance Partners等提供諮詢服務。

薩默思過去推動解除金融業管制，已遭批評是引爆2008年全球金融危機的的導火線。他與金融業的密切關係，顯然會讓他成為反對者的攻擊目標。
