隨著新電腦在市場上布局更新，採用Windows 8作業系統的裝置也越來越多，就現行網路流量使用載具統計，顯示Windows 8平台約佔8%。但就整體網路流量使用載具來看，目前還是以Windows 7為主要使用作業系統平台。

根據市調單位NetApplications透過網路流量使用平台所進行統計 (針對2013年9月期間統計)，其中顯示微軟於去年間正式推出的Windows 8目前已經佔有8%左右的網路流量，但整體來看依然由Windows 7取下更多網路流量佔比，約有46.4%，而Windows XP目前也仍有31%使用比例。

蘋果作業系統部分，則分別由OS X 10.8取下4%佔比，雖然目前有越來越多人加入使用Mac系列，不過相較於PC更加龐大市佔，整體使用數量仍有相當差距。

不過從數量走勢來看，可以發現Windows 8有明顯上揚成長，主要如先前提到新款PC均預載Windows 8作業系統有關，而Windows 7呈現使用成長現象，則與企業端選擇汰換Windows XP作業系統，並且在相容、穩定等升級風險考量下使用Windows 7有關。包含蘋果OS X 10.8也有微幅成長趨勢，顯示目前選擇加入Mac系列電腦比例也有成長。
