西港國小校友 捐百萬購新書

西港國小校友謝秀雲日前得知母校圖書館缺乏經費添購新書，昨天捐贈100萬元購書經費，希望學弟妹能多充實課外知識。

謝秀雲民國56年自西港國小畢業，昨天她由夫婿白茂裕、市議員蔡秋蘭、南瀛獅子會長邱勝彥等陪同回母校捐款。

校長林銘山表示，校內圖書館多年來一直沒有經費添購新書，日前向蔡秋蘭反映求助，蔡與南瀛獅子會獅友白茂裕熟識，告知校方困境，白茂裕與謝秀雲得知後二話不說答應捐款。

林銘山說，這筆捐款約可購買新書3千冊。他說，教育局還有50多萬元圖書館設備費未撥發給學校，校方今年配合市府提升圖書館功能，但巧婦難為無米之炊，希望熱心校友與企業界能支持添購新書、提升閱讀環境品質。
