美天主教領袖致函歐巴馬 反對出兵敘利亞

美國的羅馬天主教會領袖4日反對對敘利亞展開軍事行動，表示這將導致「意想不到的負面後果」。

美國天主教主教會議(US Conference of Catholic Bishops)在致函美國總統歐巴馬的信中說，華府應該要急迫且不倦地和其他國家合作以終結敘利亞內戰，而非採取軍事行動。

在美國計劃針對據傳敘利亞政府在大馬士革郊區發動化學武器攻擊，而出兵敘利亞之際，美國天主教主教會議在信函中除了譴責使用化武之外，並表示包括教宗方濟(Pope Francis)和中東的基督教主教們，都呼籲國際社會避免軍事干預。

信中說，他們明確表示軍事攻擊將會是反效果的，將會使得原已致命的情勢更形惡化，而且會帶來意想不到的負面後果。

在這封信函上署名的宗教領袖包括美國天主教主教會議主席--紐約樞機主教杜蘭(Timothy Dolan)、愛荷華州主教佩茲(Richard Pates)等。
